ウエットスーツ保管方法 Wet suit storage method

夏になり、夏だけサーファーが増えておりますが、今回は冬もサーフィンをやっている方が夏になり、衣替えをする際のウエットスーツ保管方法をご紹介致します。夏を向かえ、今まで着ていたウエットスーツを皆さんどのように保管していますか。一番やってはいけない保管方法は折りたたんでしまうことです。ウエットはゴムですから、長い間折りたたんでいると、シワになり、折り目が痛んでしまいます。また細いハンガーで吊るしているのも肩が崩れてしまいますので、気をつけてください。理想の保管方法は、ウエットの立体箇所に潰れない様にクッション材を入れて、ウエットをごみ袋などでホコリが付かないように包んで、置いておくことがいいと思います。また、肩部分が太いハンガーに吊るして置くのもいいと思います。ちょっと高いですが、１５００円くらいで売っています。高価なウエットスーツですから、保管に気をつけて、長く使っていきましょう。

日焼けについて About sunburn

夏本番での悩みの１つである日焼けについてご紹介します。日焼けには紫外線を浴びて肌が赤くなるサンバーンと肌が黒くなるような色素沈着が起こるサンタンの二種類があります。サンバーンは肌が赤くなり、段々とヒリヒリしてきます。サンタンはサンバーンのような現象は起きませんが、アフターケアをしていないと将来、シワやタルミやそばかすの原因になってしまいます。黒くなる人と赤くなる人の違いの１つとしてメラニン色素の量が挙げられます。メラニン色素が、紫外線から体を守っています。メラニン色素は黒みがかった茶色をしており、メラニン色素が表面に出ることが日焼けになります。もともと黒い人はメラニン色素が豊富なのかもしれません。どちらにしても過度な日焼けは体によくありませんので、ケアをしてから海に入りましょう。

これから夏の季節になると、そろそろフルスーツを封印して、シーガルやタッパーなど肌の露出の多い格好で海に入る方が多くなります。そしてそんな季節に発生する生物がいます。それがクラゲです。クラゲは8月くらいになると、かなり大量に発生し、パドルをしている時などに触ってしまい、手が被れたりすることがあり、大変危険です。だからといって、8月の終わりにフルスーツにブーツを履く馬鹿な人なんていません。そんなクラゲに刺されない商品があるので、ご紹介します。その名はセーフシー。こちらは日焼け止め兼クラゲ避けの効果があるみたいです。せっかく暑いとき、海に入って気持ちいいのに、クラゲに刺されては最悪です。是非、購入して試して見てください。金額は2000円くらいです。
