今回はドロップインについてご紹介致します。ドロップインって言葉を聞いたことありますか。ドロップインとはサーフィンのルールの一つです。サーフィンには、ワンマン･ワンウェーブという大会ルールがあり、つまり一つの波に一人のサーファーっていうルールです。ピークに近いサーファーに波に乗る優先権があります。しかし、その波に割り込みをして入り、ピークから乗っているサーファーの進路を妨げてしまうサーファーの割り込みをドロップインといいます。いわゆる前乗りです。前乗りするとどうなるかというと、殴られることがあります。前乗りしないように気をつけてサーフィンをしていても、いい波があれば乗りたくなり、普通にしてしまうことがあります。その場合は必ず、ピークから乗ってきたサーファーに謝りましょう。笑って謝らず、真剣に謝れば、そのサーファーも許してくれるはずです。そんなことが起きないようにするために、いつも周りに目を配り、危険予知能力を働かせて、楽しくサーフィンしましょう。
