サーフィンをするには、入る場所の波の特徴を知る必要があります。ということで、今回は茨城の波崎の特徴をご紹介致します。
～特徴～

～危険な場所～
サイズが大きい時、消波ブロックの脇はカレントが強いので沖に流されてしまう。
～注意事項～
サイズが大きい時に生じるカレントに、十分な注意が必要。

本日はカレントについてご紹介致します。

リップカレントは、真っ直ぐ戻らずにいったん横に流れて波が割れていないところ、つまり水深の深いところを通って沖へと戻る仕組みです。
もしもカレントにはまってしまった際の逃げ方ですが、決してまっすぐに戻ろうとしてはいけません。そんな時は、岸と平行にパドルを一生懸命漕ぎましょう。そうすれば、カレントから逃れられることが多いのです。ただし、波が割れているところは岸に向かって流れがあるので、最悪波に巻かれながらしてでも戻るほうが、流されて沖に出てしまい、レスキュー隊を呼ぶよりはマシだと思います。
カレントの見つけ方としましては、ビーチ全体を見渡して、波が割れていないところを探します。さらに、海面がさざ波だっているところや、堤防沿いも充分に気をつけて頂きたいです。

まずは長さですが、９’０”～９’６”が人気があり、波のサイズとしてはくるぶしの小波くらいから使用出来ます。タイプも様々あり、クラシック、オールラウンド、パフォーマンスなどのタイプがあります。
お気に入りのスタイルを追求するのがロングの魅力です。
ロングボードはテイクオフまでは一番優しいボードで、浮力が有り失速しにくいので波に乗るのは簡単だと言われております。ただし、ボードが大きいのでコントロールするのは一番難しいです。
チョッピーの波（風波）や大きい波、掘れる波には不向きです。
重さと長さがあり、海の中では最強の凶器となりますので、技量が無い人は空いているポイントで練習するように心がけて下さい。
たとえ上手くなっても波を独り占めするスタイルはけっして良い光景ではありませんので、マナーを守って、楽しく波乗りしましょう！！

ボードの長さは８’０”～８’６”が人気があり、波のサイズは、ヒザ～ムネ、カタがベストな波だと言われております。単純に小さい波でサーフィンを楽しみたい女性にはベストだと思います。
ロングだと重く大きすぎるので力の弱い女性には海の中での取りまわしや、持ち運びに苦労しますので、ミニタンカーが女性にはおススメです。
だだテイクオフはロングには勝てませんので、出きるだけ空いているポイントで楽しみましょう。
